If you’ve been a fan of Culture Club for any length of time, you’ve no doubt come across the FABULOUS work of one Sue Clowes. She’s the amazing textile artist responsible for outfitting the band in the early days. And much of her design work has been… borrowed…(?) for subsequent artworks in the bands releases and tours in the years since. If you’re anything like me, those designs stayed in your mind long after first viewing. And they are still as dynamic today as they were nearly four decades ago! Naturally, the 12” Boy and his cohorts had to have their own Sue Clowes collection. And so, voila! There’s still a few key pieces to add to give what I’d consider an adequate representation of the collection she developed for messers Hay, Craig, Moss & O’Dowd, but I hope it pays adequate homage to the genius behind the original works.
